First game

This board is designed for 4 players, each with their own starting island of 47 tiles, 7 regular tiles of each type and 12 commodity tiles (4 of the three types).
The middle island has 49 tiles of which 18 are gold, 8 diamant and 22 regular tiles (four of each, 2 extra trees). All islands have their tiles arranged in the same way, the number tiles are the same for each player in a bag: 5x3, 5x4, 6x5, 7x7, 7x8, 7x9, 5x10 and 5 times a 11 number tile. The world is not round.

Each player starts with 4 villages and 4 cities on hiw own island. All other islands need to be discovered, and all routes need to come from the centre island. 35 points and 4 islands gives the winner. One cannot go from one island to another, they are not connected. Each player has their own barbaric attackers, they only move on the own players throw. Instead of doing something with the ..., a player may also put their ship one place back.

After the cities and villages are placed the players randomly place the number tiles from their own bag. One player had a very bad distribution of numbers on tiles, he had no chance at all to win. In the setup phase players can only place villages and cities on their own islands.

Second game

The center island has been shuffled and turned into a discovery island again. The setup phase can take a long time with 4 villages and cities. Having your own island circumvents that very well, we try another option now. Each player places one city and one village on his previously 'own' island, and then on the next and the next. There is a very short waiting time this way since all players are doing it in parallel. The number tiles were rearranged so placement is a bit better now. A player wins with 40 points and 4 islands 'discovered'.

In the first and second game there was a mismatch when a player got a lot of new development cards which allow for 2 cards per ore or hay tile. This totalled to 42 extra cards (in the whole second game this player only received 177 cards). One idea to solve this unbalance is to limit these 'get 2 cards' card to 'get 1 card'.
